A few weeks ago, Xiaomi launched its Mi 10 Pro. It was a beast in terms of power, camera, storage, and connectivity. Also in price. Not surprisingly, it was the first model from the Chinese factory to break the thousand-euro barrier. It was an exception, remarkable, but an exception after all. This Thursday the brand has returned to its comfort zone, cheap terminals, where it really dominates and sets the pace for its competitors.
And it has done so with a new installment of the Redmi Note range, one of its most popular models, which has already sold more than one hundred million worldwide. In this case it has been the turn of the Redmi Note 9 and the Redmi Note 9 Pro, some phones, in times of crisis, once again bet heavily on price-quality with the quad camera, in both cases, as one of their main arguments . In this way the family is complete with the Redmi Note 9S, presented days ago.
The Redmi Note 9 will arrive with a 6.53-inch screen, with reduced frames and a perforated screen instead of the ‘notch’, which from what we have seen begins to have its days numbered. It is a panel with Full HD + resolution, with 2340 x 1080 pixels , with up to 450 nits of brightness and that comes with a contrast ratio of 1,500: 1. It will be finished in tempered glass, with a headphone jack and will come in three colors (gray, iridescent white and green). The weight will be 199 grams and the thickness of 8.9 millimeters.
As far as the guts are concerned, here we find again a Mediatek processor, the Helio G85 , an eight-core chip, with a twelve nanometer architecture, which can run up to 2.0 Ghz. It will be released in two versions when it comes to RAM and storage. We will have an input with 3GB of RAM and 64 of memory. There will be a second model, which will increase these sections to 4 and 128GB, respectively. In both cases, the available space can be expanded by 512 GB through microSD. The battery will be slightly above the five mAh barrier, with 5020; And this Redmi Note 9 will support fast charging up to 18W.
The camera, as we advanced at the beginning, will have four pieces. A 48-megapixel primary sensor with f / 1.79, autofocus and a 6-piece lens. An 8 megapixel wide angle utra, f / 2.2 and 118 degree viewing angle. And a macro and a depth sensor, of only 2 megapixels. The front camera is left with 13 megapixels.
What else does the Pro offer?
In the upper model we find certain changes. For starters it is bigger. The Full Hd + resolution is maintained but here we reach up to 6.67 inches. The weight increases slightly, up to 209 grams; while the thickness remains practically the same, 8.8 millimeters. It also has a headphone jack. The hole of the screen for the camera is located in the center and not to the left as in the entry version.
In terms of the engine, this Pro model will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G , a chip with a lot of travel that we already saw last year in models like the Mi 9T. It will be complemented by 6GB of RAM and 64 or 128 memory, also expandable up to 512GB. The 5020 mAh battery is maintained, although in this case the fast charge reaches 30W.
The camera, although quadruple also undergoes certain improvements: the main sensor goes to 64 megapixels of resolution with pixels up to 1.6 microns in size , autofocus, f / 1.89 and also a 6-piece lens. The wide angle is maintained at 8 megapixels, f / 2.2 and this five-piece lens offers up to 119 degrees of vision. It is also complemented by a 2MP depth sensor and a macro, which this time goes up to 5MP. The front also 16 megapixel resolution.
The price of this Pro model is intuitive enough competitive. Although the final price in Europe remains to be known, the announced cost for China is, in exchange, about 250 euros for the entry version. The upper one, about 275 euros. In the case of the Redmi Note 9 the starting price will be about 183 euros to change for the 3GB RAM model and 230 euros for the version with more capacity.
